La Gente is aware of the impact of all its activities on the environment and on communities. We are committed to meeting our customers’ needs and our own by providing sustainable services and minimising the impact of these on the natural environment.

We are committed to:

 
  • Preventing pollution and minimising adverse impacts on the environment and local communities where we deliver our services
  • Following guidelines recognised as good industry environmental practices
  • Conserving resources by ensuring we follow energy efficiency practise and through adequate forward planning
  • Promoting the use of supplies that are recycled and recyclable wherever possible, and whose production and use minimises the consumption of natural resources
  • Reducing waste generation at source and introducing recycling
  • Employing positive practices within our procurement process taking into account the environmental, social and financial costs of products and services over their whole life cycle where possible
  • Encouraging our service providers to implement the principles of our environmental policy and to utilise sustainable resources in the delivery of services
 

Where appropriate, to advise and assist our clients to improve their environmental performance we will establish, and periodically review, our environmental policy, objectives and targets. These objectives will be audited on a regular basis to monitor our achievements and to continually improve our environmental performance.

In line with the requirements of the International Standard for Environmental Management, ISO14001 we will:

  • Endeavour to ensure compliance with all applicable legislative requirements
  • Communicate our objectives to all employees, contractors and associates
  • Review our objectives and report internally the progress towards their achievement on an annual basis
  • Provide training and awareness for our employees to enable them to perform efficiently whilst reducing their impact on the environment
  • Co-operate and communicate with our neighbours, government, and regulatory authorities to achieve the shared goal of improving the environment
