Simulations that accurately reflect the subtlety and complexity of real life situations offer observers the opportunity to assess representative behaviours. We design exercises to provide realistic samples of the candidate’s behaviour.
A total assessment event designed by La Gente provides a whole picture by balancing different perspectives. Assessments of "typical performance" are balanced against measures of "maximum performance". Cognitive measures are balanced with behavioural observations. Techniques are included to evaluate not only capability and style but also motivation.
The validity of assessment is substantially enhanced through the use of exercises that simulate critical elements of the role for which candidates are being considered. In some cases a single assessment exercise may be used: alternatively a number of exercises may be integrated to comprise an assessment centre.
