Assessment & Development Centres
La Gente specialises in identifying on talent through effective assessment and development centre methodology.
We define the range of competencies to be assessed then design and propose instrumentation and activities to assess performance accurately against agreed criteria. In addition we can provide qualified additional Assessors to work within a team of your managers.
What makes La Gente assessment centres and development centres special?
Real life simulations
Simulations that accurately reflect the subtlety and complexity of real life situations offer observers the opportunity to assess representative behaviours. We design exercises to provide realistic samples of the candidate’s behaviour.
Balance
A total assessment event designed by La Gente provides a whole picture by balancing different perspectives. Assessments of "typical performance" are balanced against measures of "maximum performance". Cognitive measures are balanced with behavioural observations. Techniques are included to evaluate not only capability and style but also motivation.
Exercise design and exercise types
The validity of assessment is substantially enhanced through the use of exercises that simulate critical elements of the role for which candidates are being considered. In some cases a single assessment exercise may be used: alternatively a number of exercises may be integrated to comprise an assessment centre.
Our aim is always to design exercises uniquely tailored to the assessment purposes for which they will be used. When we design exercises for you, we provide assessors’ guidelines and assessment forms to support the exercise itself.

We design exercises to be challenging and also fun. Our aim is for candidates and assessors to enjoy assessment events. We achieve this by incorporating humour and human interest into engaging and meaningful tasks.
